We love our homemade dinner rolls. Most any Sunday you will see a pan rounding out our meal. This is a great recipe because it's just as easy as making a single pan, but now we have an extra pan to share with another family, freeze, or have company over for dinner. At Thanksgiving time I make 4 batches so that there are plenty to enjoy during and after the meal.
Two Pans of Dinner Rolls
3 1/2 cups warm water
2 1/2 Tbs yeast
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tbs salt
6 Tbs butter
1/4 cup powdered milk
8 cups bread flour
1. Place the warm water in a large bowl. Add the yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the butter (cut into chunks) and allow to stand and soften. Add 2 cups of the flour and the powdered milk and stir. Allow to sit for 5 minutes until the mixture starts to bubble. Add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft but not too sticky dough (about 5 cups). Turn out onto floured surface. Knead using enough of the remaining flour to make a smooth, supple dough.
2. Place the dough in a greased bowl and allow to rise covered 1 1/2 hours until double. Punch down, divide in half. Use one half of the dough per pan. Form into rolls, place in greased 9x13 pan, cover, and let rise 1/2 hour. Each pan should contain 24 rolls (6 rows of 4).
3. Bake at 350° for 20-23 minutes.

These rolls are so perfect!! I love them. New inspiration for meals this week - one to keep and one to give away.
I made these today and had Harrison & Ryder take a batch over to our neighbors. This was the message I got back:
"As my kids were complaining about their bowl of cereal for dinner tonight, there was a knock at my door, and lo and behold....lovely rolls were presented to me.....and then I heard cries of "Sister Romney SAVED us! Sister Romney is the BEST baker EVER! Sister Romney should be a waitress!" Just know that you were much appreciated tonight... :)"
Life is good.
